How do I search on TRADEATTACHE.COM™
?
Click on TRADE DIRECTORY on the upper menu bar of
the Home Page. This will take you to the TRADEATTACHE.COM™ Search
Page, where you will see the following search options:
Scroll down to the option of
your choice, or use the toolbar to the left to get there in one
step. When you choose "Search by Product" or "Search by Industry,"
you narrow your search by choosing from among the following
databases:
In "Search by Product," once
you have chosen one of the databases listed above, you can then
specify whether you would like to conduct your search based on:
When you use "Search by
Industry," the system will automatically display the SIC-based list
of industries.
Can I search
and view results on TRADEATTACHE.COM™ free of
charge?
Yes. Subject
to the Terms of Use, searches on TRADEATTACHE.COM™ are
free of charge.
If I search by
product, to what degree of detail can I search?
Enter a
product search keyword, and all products and services with matching
and similar descriptions will be displayed. To enhance your product
search experience, an intelligent search engine is deployed where
the SIC and HTS code descriptions have been mapped so that there is
a high probability of your keyword triggering a match.
How does
the product search work?
The product keywords you enter are
searched against the descriptions of all the items in our database.
All the SIC codes corresponding to the matched descriptions are then
displayed.
For instance, if you choose "Manufacturer," a
hyper-linked list of standard descriptions corresponding to the 8
digits of all the matched SIC's will be displayed. If you search by
"Distributor," "Exporter" or "Importer," a hyper-linked list of
standard descriptions corresponding to the first four digits of all
the matched SIC codes will be displayed. You can then click on one
of those descriptions to narrow your search down to a single SIC.
All companies categorized under this SIC are then displayed.
What if I know the
exact SIC or HTS code for my product?
You can search based
on either of these codes. The system will display all companies that
deal with products designated under these codes.
Can I search on a company name as well as by
trade or brand
name?
You can search by company name by
using a search keyword, and all the companies with matching or
similar names will appear as search results. You cannot search by
trade or brand name unless the trade and brand name are common to
the company name.
Can I search for products by Country?
You will find the option of searching by country on the
Search Page. When you select this option, only companies located in
the country you indicate will be displayed. You also have the option
of searching without specifying a country, thereby generating a list
of companies from around the world.
Do I need to
accept cookies to use TRADEATTACHE.COM™and what is a cookie, anyway?
You don't need
to accept cookies to use TRADEATTACHE.COM™. A cookie is simply an HTTP reader that consists
of a text-only string, which is entered into the memory of a
browser. This string contains the domain, path, lifetime and value
of a variable that a website sets. If the lifetime of this variable
is longer than the time a user spends on a website, the string is
saved to file for future reference. There are many reasons a website
would wish to use cookies. The reasons range from the ability to
personalize information (like on My Yahoo or Excite,) or to help
facilitate online sales and services (like on Amazon or Microsoft's
websites,) or simply for the purpose of tracking popular links or
demographics (like on DoubleClick.)
Are there limits
on searches per session?
You may view up to 1000 pages per
session.
What is the "Trade
Services" database?
Trade Services is a comprehensive
collection of information and listings of service providers
connected to the world of international trade. In this area you will
find listings for customs agents, shipping agents and companies,
trade financing firms, country information, regulatory information,
trade shows, currency conversion, and much more.
What is the
"Trading Post"?
The Trading Post is a place for sellers to
post the products they are offering for sale and for buyers to post
the products that they are looking to purchase. It is a facility for
businessmen from around the globe to exchange information related to
the purchase and sale of products. The use of the "Trading Post" is
free for all users but it does require registration. As a valuable
service to tradeAttache’s subscribers of the various enhanced
listing programs, the system automatically forwards e-mails to all
such subscribers who’s line of business matches any of the trade
leads posted on the Trading Post, notifying them of the most updated
leads received. This service is provided free of charge to all
enhanced listing subscription levels.
What is the "Trade Basics"
section?
As
part of our service to the community of TRADEATTACHE.COM™ users, we have commissioned a summary of the
various aspects of international trade. This study will inform users
and guide them through the various general steps in importing,
exporting, shipping, and other aspects of world
trade.

What are "Enhanced
Listings"?
All
companies listed in the
TRADEATTACHE.COM™
database can purchase Enhanced Listings. An Enhanced Listing is a
fee-based service providing a number of enhancements including
superior listings and displays in the search results. Enhanced
Listings are categorized by SIC codes, with a limited number per
SIC.
What
are the advantages of Enhanced Listings?
The advantages depend upon
the level of listing, but some key advantages of Enhanced Listings
are:
- Enhanced Listings are displayed ahead of free listings in the
search results
- Fax, e-mail and web addresses are included in an Enhanced
Listing, along with direct web links
- Priority receipt of prompt e-mails from the Trading Post leads
- Displays of company logos, online catalog of products, etc.

How can I list my company on TRADEATTACHE.COM™?

What are the levels of listings available? How
much do they cost?
Gold Listings: Limited to 1 per each SIC
category
Silver Listings: Limited to 30 per each SIC category

What is "Direct
E-mail Back"?
This is an option provided on both the Search
Results Page and Company Record Page. The user can click on this
option and compose an e-mail, which will be sent to all of the
Enhanced Listing subscribers on that page. The e-mail is a form
inquiry, in essence, containing a Request for Quote. This service is
provided free of charge in order to encourage users to place
inquiries with our subscribers. The other function of Direct E-mail
Back is to forward the Trading Post offers to the appropriate
subscribers of the Enhanced Listing services.

Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) is the
primary source of our data. D&B is the world's largest provider
of business information on credit, marketing, and receivables. As
part of our agreement, D&B supplies us with updated data on a
monthly basis. The data from D&B is then augmented by
TRADEATTACHE.COM™ through a variety of other
international sources in order to create the most detailed,
comprehensive, and far-reaching international trade database in the
world.
